Facilities

Hostel Facility

The University Hostel facility is available to a limited number of the students. Every full-time student, at the time of admission, is required to select the place of his residence for the academic year and to state in it in the admission form. A student who makes a false statement regarding the place of residence is liable to punishment which may be amount of expulsion. Change of residence shell be communicated to the college office within 10 days of the change.

Transport Facility

The University Transport facility is also available to all University Students, Teachers and Employees.

Computer Lab Facility

The University Law College maintains a Network with more than 100 computers, air conditioned computing labs, consisting of 20 computers for LL.B. 10 computers for B.A. LLB Hons students, 05 computers for Ph.D Students and 05 computers for LL.M students. All faculty members already have P-IV computers with LCD monitors in their respective offices. The Labs have high speed Internet facility through Punjab University Fiber Optics and independent 6MB DSL internet on backup.

Health Facility

The University provides medical support to both resident and day students as well as employees and their families. Three thousand employees of the University and their families including widows, mothers and children are entitled to free medical treatment. Medical facilities are also available to retired employees and their families. The University has its own Radiology,

Biochemistry, Pathology Departments and Dental Clinic with a full time Dental Surgeon. Day and Night medical services are available to the residents on the Quaid-e-Azam Campus of the University. The clinics are working both at the Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Campuses. More than 600 patients visit the University clinics daily. Emergency services are also available. The University helps to provide treatment in local Government hospitals for seriously ill patients.

In addition, the University has established a model health service. At present the medical staff consists of one Chief Medical Officer, (Consultant Physician), three Senior Medical Officers, two lady Medical Officers, five Medical Officers, one Dental Surgeon, one Ophthalmologist and one part-time Radiologist.

The Medical cover begin provided to university employees and students includes

Medical advice and consultation.
Gynecological and ante natal management.
Dental care.
Ophthalmic care.
Provision of required medicines.
Ambulance service.
Diagnostic facilities including E.C.G., X-ray, a clinical laboratory and ultra sonography.
Short wave diathermy and physiotherapy.
Hospitalization expenses are also covered by the University

Library Facility

The Law College is maintaining a Library with approximately 1,20,000 books. Law Reports, Journals, Reviews and other material representing the various legal system of the world are available. The Library is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on all working days. A separate reading is provided for Teachers and Postgraduate student.

Clubs & Societies

All extra-curricular activities in the College are managed by all the Sports Clubs, the Magazine Committee, the Sports Tournament Committee, the Debating Society and the Law Moot Society.

Distinctions

Inayat Ali Griffin Prize

This prize shall be given to a successful candidate of the LL.B. Part 2 Examination who is reported by the examiner to have secured the highest number of mark in Islamic personal law.

Jaishi Ram Gold Medal

The medal is awarded to the student who stands first in the LL.B Part 1 Examination

Honourable Sir Ranbir Singh Gold Medal

This gold medal is awarded to the student who stands first in the LL.B Part 3 Examination

Charles Earl Pevan Petman Law Prize

This prize is awarded annually either in cash or in shape of Law books to the student who obtain highest marks in Criminal law, LL.B Part 1.

Justice Muhammad Jan Memorial Gold Medal

This medal is awarded to a person standing first in the LL.B part 1 in the subject of Jurisprudence.

Mian Muhammad Amin Gold Medal

This medal is awarded to a candidate standing first in Mercantile Law in LL.B part 2 Examination.

Sh. Khurshid Ahmad Memorial Gold Medal

This medal is awarded to who took over all first position in LL.B program

Zaheer Ahmad Khan Gold Medal

This medal is awarded on obtaining first position in Diploma in Taxation Laws

Prof. Muhammad Rafiq Gold Medal

This medal is awarded on obtaining first position in Islamic Jurisprudence LL.B. part I.
