B.A. From Government College, Lahore. LL.B. with distinction from Punjab University Law College in 1976. Graduate Diploma in International Relations from University of Stockholm, Sweden (1977-78), M.A. from Punjab University in 1978. Since fall, 1980 with Punjab University Law College, Lahore. Assistant Legal Advisor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad. 1983-1985. visiting faculty , international Relations Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad 1984-85; visiting Fulbright exchange scholar to : Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, University of Tennessee at Knoxville, University of Chicago, lllinois, U.S.A. worked with international Law Commission, Geneva, Switzerland, 1984. Member a IUCN-World Conservation Union-Commission on Environmental Law. Gone through an intensive capacity building program in Environmental Law in  ASEAN Countries. Supported by IUCN, National University of Singapore, United Nations University, Tokyo. Member/ Secretary, University Grants Commission's National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) for LL.B. Program 2000-01. recently Mr. Khan has earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Laws from WIPO, Geneva and University of Turin, Italy (2001-2002).

He acted as resource person in ATRIP’s International Conference on Intellectual property held in New Delhi, India, October, 2002, And in KYUSHU University, FUKUOKA, Japan’s International seminar: Asia and open society, held in November—December 2002.
